When a runaway circus monkey steals half a million dollars in mob money from him, attorney Michael Murphy, the World’s Unluckiest Man, knows that it’s just not his day...
It had started out well – called to the boardroom for an early morning meeting, Murphy assumed he was to be made a partner. Instead, he is accused of stealing from a client trust account and given 24 hours to clear his name.
Before Murphy can begin to deal with this, jailed mob boss Mr. G calls in a blood debt. Mr. G saved Murphy from a gun-toting mugger, and in return he demands that Murphy collects half a million dollars of mob money and takes it to a bail bondsman. What could possibly go wrong?
First Murphy’s car is stolen by a smooth-talking art thief...
Then a mob hit man dressed as a nun tries to kill him...
Finally the monkey snatches the money...
Just as it seems it can get no worse, Murphy discovers that not only is his best friend Chip the one framing him for the trust account theft, he is also having an affair with Murphy's wife.
But when Murphy unexpectedly recovers the missing bag of mob money he has to make a choice – does he continue being the ultimate Good Samaritan and bail out Mr. G, or does he finally act for himself and use the money to clear his name and expose Chip?
Murphy’s Law is the ultimate comedy of errors, in which whatever can go wrong, will go wrong.
