The Devil May Care – High Concept Comedy
|
|
“It’s so hard to be good when you’re so good at being
bad.”
|
|
“Forgive me father, for I have sinned. It has been a while since my last
confession.”
Father Christopher clears his throat. “What sins have you committed?”
“Let’s see, there’s mass murder, rape, pillage – oh, and I’ve recently started illegally
downloading movies…”
A visit from the Devil (Mr. D), presents novice priest Father Christopher with the ultimate
challenge – a once in a century chance to help Mr. D give up his life of sin and thus save the
world. All he has to do is get the original sinner to reform his wicked ways…
With only seven days before Mr. D reverts to his usual satanic form for another century, Chris
challenges Mr. D to commit Seven Acts of Kindness to make up for the Seven Deadly Sins. But
try as he might, Mr. D can’t help but be bad – there are just too many temptations…
|
 |
A visit to a Catholic Girls’ School
that ends up with Mr. D in the broom closet with a young nun… |
 |
A kids’ birthday party that
degenerates into a mass food fight… |
 |
Chris’s obnoxious rival who needs
taking down a peg… |
|
Worse still, Chris is not immune to Mr. D’s aura, a fog of evil that infects everyone around him
– the more time Chris spends with Mr. D, the worse he behaves…
As the end of the week looms, Chris becomes ever more desperate, finally pushing Mr. D to the
ultimate challenge – a visit to the Miss World Pageant. Surrounded by beautiful women, a
display of priceless diamonds, and a table-bulging buffet, the Prince of Darkness will be tempted
as never before.
In the ultimate twist, Mr. D fails the test, but saves Chris, leading them both to a new
understanding about themselves and the world.

"I have worked with Don on three scripts over the
past 18 months, and I am looking forward to an ongoing working
relationship.
Creatively, he is highly imaginative, capable of
utilising both his own ideas and incorporating those of others to their maximum
potential. Don is very hard-working - he works fast, but cares - which means that it
becomes very energising for those he works with.
Tough deadlines are a challenge rather than a
problem, so if time is of the essence, Don is the ideal person to have on your
team."

Don is by far the fastest scribe I've had the
pleasure of working with. In fact, I am puzzled by how high the quality is; you would
think it would suffer accordingly.
Don is always just an email away, and didn't
hesitate to open up his phone lines despite us being in two different countries. Note
that he insisted on picking up the bill every time, which I thought was
class.
Don's educational background, with a Masters in
Screenwriting, plus his global travels and experiences, all come through and result in
rich, pointed prose. Highly recommended.
